Composer/musician Yosvany Terry consciously communicates his African and Cuban lineage through sounds that originated in Africa and inspired new music in the Caribbean, Brazil, and the American South. Today’s concert features music that will look at the common musical aspects of Afro-Caribbean, Latin, jazz, and Afro-Cuban jazz. Yosvany Terry will be joined by an all-star ensemble including Junior Terry (bass), Pedro Martínez (congas), and Osmany Paredes (piano).
