Mark Izu is a seminal leader in the Asian American Jazz movement. Playing the acoustic bass, as well as several traditional Asian instruments, Izu has gained national and international attention as a musician and composer. His compositions include symphony, film, theater, dance and jazz. Today’s concert is presented in partnership with the Consulate General of Japan.
